You can find Mind shops in more than 150 communities around England and Wales, selling high quality items mostly donated by members of the public. The newest addition to this vital fundraising arm of the national mental health charity is coming to Rothwell, with a local twist.

Money raised from sales will not only go to support the national campaign to support people with mental health difficulties, it will also go direct to sustaining local services in Leeds delivered by local charity Leeds Mind.

The new store in Rothwell is a joint venture between National Mind and Leeds Mind, supporting communities across Leeds. Leeds Mind runs many services across the city including Leeds Suicide Bereavement Service, Counselling, Peer Support and Workplace Wellbeing to name a few.

Andrew Vale, Managing Director of Mind Retail, said “We are thrilled to be working with Leeds Mind in our new Rothwell store and have already received an overwhelming response from the local community. This opening is Mind’s 157th store and will deliver much needed funds to both Mind and Leeds Mind.”

Leeds Mind CEO Helen Kemp cut the ribbon to the brand new shop, she said: “This is a new venture for Leeds Mind and will deliver income to help sustain our services locally. Each full Mind stock donation bag is on average worth £30 to us, so we are thrilled to be involved.”

The Rothwell store opened on 21st March 2019 in the Morrison’s complex. With ample parking, it’s the perfect place to donate your preloved goods.

Approximately one in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. In England, one in six people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week.
