Hearing Voices training

As part of the city World Mental Health Day events, Leeds Mind is running a four day Hearing Voice network training for Voice Hearers and non-Voice Hearers. This training will be facillitated by Jacqui Dillon, the Chair of Hearing Voices Network at SHIP.

Leeds Mind and other local voluntary organisations providing mental health services to be reviewed

Leeds Commissioners (Adult Social Care and the Primary Care Trust) are in the process of reviewing all voluntary mental health services. This process, which may take up to 3 months per organisation, intends to establish clear reasons for commissioning services and either re-commissioning or decommissioning what is currently funded. Leeds Mind is well into its review, has completed the paperwork and submitted it. The Commissioners have visited the 6 projects they are reviewing and conducted interviews and focus groups with service users. The report from the Commissioners to Leeds Mind is being written and because of the nature of the complex material and large amounts of data may take until mid November to complete. The Commissioners will then continue to review other mental health providers jointly funded by health and social care.
