Peer Support

CMHT Peer Support

Our Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) Peer Support Service is delivered by a team of Peer Support workers who are based both within the CMHT teams and Leeds Mind.

Leeds Mind Peer Support has been developed by staff with lived experience of mental health distress. They have benefitted from using peer-led support to manage their own mental health.

Staff participate in discussions, share their feelings and experiences and learn from one another, just as you will.

We offer one-to-one sessions online, via phone or face-to-face at Leeds Mind or CMHT offices for three months. We also offer group work activities from our range of courses and workshops.

The peer support provided will complement and enhance the support you receive from the CMHTs. Our Peer Support activities will enable you to develop the skills, confidence and social networks to support you to better manage your mental health and recognise when you may need to seek support.

To be able to receive support from our CMHT peer support service, you must:

  • Currently receive support from one of the CMHTs in Leeds
  • Be interested in one-to-one support and/or group work
  • Want to develop skills to better manage Mental Health
  • Be willing to share your experiences
