As coronavirus continues to make an impact on day-to-day life, here’s how Leeds Mind is delivering support and how you can access our services during this time. Please note, some dates may be subject to change.

We will update this page in line with the latest developments. Page last updated: 02 June 2020.

Counselling

We’ve been in touch with existing clients to see whether they’d prefer contact via phone or video calls. While we’ve had some availability during coronavirus, the waiting lists for both types of counselling service we offer are currently at capacity and therefore closed, but keep an eye out on our counselling pages or social media channels where we’ll publicise when appointments become available. Alternatively, you can find further support from Mindwell.

Suicide bereavement services

One-to-one support is continuing via phone or video call, depending on client preference, for both the Leeds Suicide Bereavement Service and the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Suicide and Bereavement Service. Group work is taking place on Zoom, virtually. Both services are continuing to accept referrals via their respective websites (please see below).

We are also delivering workshops and courses on topics including  Coping with Change, Managing Anxiety, Managing my Mood and Coping with Isolation – details can also be found on the Peer Support page (see the link above). Men’d

Existing Men’d clients are being supported via phone or video call, depending on their preference.

While the project is usually only available to self-identifying men in the LS18 area, referrals are now also open to men living in postcodes across Leeds, given the potential additional demand for support. If you’re interested in the service please contact 0113 305 5800 or email [email protected]. You can also get in touch with Men’d on Facebook.

THRU

Support is currently taking place with existing clients on a 1-to-1 basis, with plans to move group support online from w/c 27.04.20. New referrals are also being taken, where participants will need to complete an Introduction to Group Work (IGW) session. IGWs are currently being undertaken 1-to-1 remotely via telephone or video call.

Keep an eye out on Leeds Mind social channels and the THRU page for updates.

SELF

SELF is open to self-referrals for all Leeds postcodes. For more info, please contact Leeds Mind Reception.
