10th October 2025 is World Mental Health Day.

This year’s theme from the World Federation for Mental Health is “Access to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies”.

For us in Leeds and West Yorkshire, this means reminding people that we are here. In what often feels like a divided and tense world, support is available.

This World Mental Health Day, as your local mental health charity Leeds Mind will be:

  • All week – Sharing about our support on social media. See what we’re sharing on Instagram and TikTok
  • Thursday 9th October, 11am – 3pm – At a community event at Leeds Kirkgate Market. Come and say hi!
  • Thursday 9th October, 10am – 12pm – At Weetwood Hall for Leeds Mind Business Connections, our quarterly networking event for all businesses across Leeds with an interest in mental health. Book your free place here.
  • Friday 10th October, 10am – 1pm – On a stall at Trinity Leeds Shopping Centre. Come down and visit us on the bridge next to Fraser Hart (upper mall)

Why World Mental Health Day is important

We join Mind in the fight for mental health – today and every day. We do it because:

  • Mental health is more than a small part of our lives – it’s every moment of every day. It’s a hard day’s work and a catch-up with friends. It’s when you become a parent and the day you lose someone you love. It’s the times you reach out for support and the years you spend on a waiting list. It’s the fight for a mental health system that works and hospitals that are safe.
  • Mental health matters on the days when everything happens and the days when nothing happens. When life is busy and unpredictable and when it’s quiet and ordinary too. That’s why we fight every day, to support more people tomorrow.
  • Today is World Mental Health Day, but we want everyone to understand that mental health is important every day. Together we can make sure everyone sees it that way.
  • Mental health affects us all differently, but it’s an important part of our lives every day. That’s why we’re so determined that no mind gets left behind, on World Mental Health Day or any other day. Everyone deserves the right support when they need it, and no one should have to face a mental health problem alone.
