What is National Stress Awareness Day?
Held on Wednesday November 7th, 2018. National Stress Awareness Day is run by the International Stress Management Association (ISMA). Their web page on National Stress Awareness Day is available here for more information: https://isma.org.uk/national-stress-awareness-day
What is stress and why is it important? Stress is a response to demands on the body and life, a response to crisis and fears. If stress gets overwhelming it can cause other mental health problems, emotional exhaustion and physical illness and can impact on work, relationships, families, and every aspect of life.
The UK’s mental health crisis continues. People are struggling to get the support they want, need and deserve. Waiting lists are long. As your local mental health charity, it’s more important than ever that our services offer what our communities want and need.
Tell us what you want to see in local and regional mental health support. Leeds Mind will use this information to build its long-term plan and shape our mental health service.
