This month, Leeds Mindful Employer Network Project Coordinator, Leigh Staunton, has been finding out more about the new Thrive at Work in Leeds programme and catching up with Emma Holford of Forum Central.
Hi Emma, what is Thrive at Work Leeds and what’s the purpose of the programme?
The Thrive at Work programme is about supporting people to thrive at work and being supported to manage their health at work.
The Key Objectives & purpose are;
1) Prevent people leaving work due to ill health.
2) Support quicker returns to work through early interventions for those absent from work due to ill health.
3) Support alternative employment opportunities for people leaving work due to ill health.
Focus: Mental health and Musculoskeletal
Who is eligible for support from Thrive at Work Leeds?
Anyone working in Leeds in paid employment in the health and social care sector. It doesn’t apply to unpaid volunteers, carers or students.
What can Thrive at Work help people with?
Areas of focus are around mental health and MSK specifically but we appreciate that these are large areas with a lot of nuances.
What different kinds of support do you offer and for how long?
Support available includes;
– An integrated Coaching Service which includes work and health coaching and social prescribing
– Leeds Workplace Adjustment Service to support employees and Managers in terms of workplace adaptations.
– Mental Health Fast Track Service so employees can access first stage therapies quickly
– MSK Support
What support or training do you offer for managers?
Managers can seek support about workplace adjustments for their employees through the Workplace Adjustments service. There is also further training and support being developed for Managers. Please see the website as more info will be available on there over the next few weeks and months.
