Help Through Hardship

A ‘no wrong door’ service, where people experiencing both money and mental health difficulties receive joined-up support from food banks, public service advice agencies and mental health support charities.

Help through Hardship local is a service delivered in partnership by local Citizens Advice, local Minds and Trussell Trust food banks.

We help people struggling with money and mental health problems with joined-up support from all three partners. We do this through a Coordinator who works between all three local partners. The Coordinator can draw on the resources and expertise from all three organisations to support people in the best way for them.

The service was co-designed by local Citizens Advice, local Minds and Trussell Trust food banks in 6 locations, as well as people with lived experience of poverty and poor mental health, between January – June 2023. It’s being piloted between July – March 2024.

You can find lots of advice about financial wellbeing on Mind’s website.
