Leeds Mind is excited to be teaming up with creative studio, Few and Far, to host our very first gaming event!

At our special launch event from 24th – 26th March, we’re inviting streamers and creators to ‘Get Together Through Gaming’. By adding a donate button to their Twitch stream, participants can raise money towards better mental health for all.

You could do a timed challenge or get creative and set your own. Think speed runs, no item runs, non-lethal playthroughs or level one playthroughs.

Playing games can positively impact our mental health by giving us ways to unwind, build new skills or connect with others.

Sophie Westmoreland, Fundraising Officer for Leeds Mind, said: “We love offering people ways to fundraise for us which is also good for their mental health. Just as a sporty fundraising challenge encourages you to get outside and get moving, our new Get Together Through Gaming event asks you to gather friends (in real life or online) and get talking about mental health while you play some of your favourite titles.

“As a gaming fan myself, I’m looking forward to seeing how our community comes together through gaming and how it helps to break the stigma around mental health conversations.”
