Peer Support

Virtual Peer Support

During Covid-19 lockdown, we’ve been offering virtual peer support through online platforms.

Below is a list of our upcoming online introduction sessions, courses and workshops.

If you would like more information or would like to discuss the service before booking, please contact us via the same methods listed above.

Nervous or unsure about accessing support online? We are able to offer up to 4 sessions (45 minutes long) of 1 to 1 peer support by telephone or Zoom to help you work towards accessing our group sessions. We can offer practical support with Zoom if you have not used it before, or offer 1:1 Peer Support if you feel unsure about attending groups and would like to build your confidence. You can self-refer for 1-to-1 support here

All new and existing group members will need to have attended an online introduction to group work session before booking onto further workshops, courses and support groups.

Experience being part of an online peer support group and find out what you can expect from our courses, workshops and support groups.

Online Workshops

Building Resilience

Explore what resilience is and learn how to recognise, maintain and build your ability to cope with difficulties and challenges.

Coping with Crisis

Explore different types of crisis and how crisis affects you. Learn coping strategies to help you manage and avoid crisis, including the current pandemic.

In this workshop we’ll look at how different types of hardship – financial, housing, health and more – can affect our mental health and the practical tools and services we can use to make sure our basic needs are taken care of.

Learn what panic is, explore how panic affects you, and take away practical tools and techniques to help you to avoid and manage panic.

Five Ways to Wellbeing

Learn five actions we can take in our everyday lives to help us feel good and function well, including whilst self-isolating.

Forgiveness and My Mental Health

Depending on our own personal experience, forgiveness can be a choice we can make if and when we feel ready. In this new workshop we will explore the barriers that make it hard for us to forgive, whether that be ourselves or another person, and the different ways forgiveness can positively affect our mental health.

Looking After Myself

Learn coping strategies to help you look after yourself, including self-soothing and mindfulness.

Managing Change

Explore how change impacts on our mental health and learn techniques to manage the challenging aspects of change.

Managing My Mood

Explore the effects of different moods on our daily lives, what can impact on our moods, and how we can develop positive strategies to manage our moods.

Setting Boundaries

Explore why we need physical and emotional boundaries in our lives, and how to set and maintain healthy personal boundaries.

Online Courses

Building Self Esteem

*This course is fully booked but we have spaces available on the waiting list*

Explore how you think and feel about yourself and how this affects your life and relationships. Learn to recognise your strengths and resources, and use them to build your self-esteem and personal effectiveness. 6 sessions.

  • Wednesdays, 14th April to 19th May, 2-4pm

Managing Anxiety 

*This course is fully booked but we have spaces available on the waiting list*

Learn what anxiety is and how to recognise it. Explore the impact of anxiety on your life and practical ways to manage and reduce it. 4 sessions.

  • Thursday, 3rd June to 24th June, 5-7pm

Online support groups

Develop a deeper understanding of your mental health with weekly support for 12 weeks in a safe, supportive environment with others who have been through similar experiences.  Celebrate successes, receive support when things aren’t going so well, share experiences and learn from other people’s coping strategies.

You must attend an online Introduction to Group Work prior to the start date of your chosen support group.

  • Mondays, 5th July to 20th September (12 weeks), 2:00-4:00pm
  • Tuesdays, 6th April to 22nd June (12 weeks), 5:30-7:30pm
